BUILDING A COMMUNITY OF HOPE: LIKE-MINDED PROGRESSIVE CLUB AT 5

Five Years of Touching Lives, Empowering Women, and Uplifting Communities

What began as a simple online gathering of close friends during the COVID-19 lockdown has today transformed into one of Nigeria’s most inspiring grassroots humanitarian movements — the Like Minded Progressive Social Club of Nigeria.

During the heat of the 2020 pandemic, when fear and uncertainty overwhelmed the world, a circle of close friends stayed connected online, checking on one another and supporting members who lacked daily essentials. This compassionate initiative was conceived by Alhaja Chief Mrs. Fatimo Omolara Ajoke Animashaun, popularly known as Larry Gold, who today serves as the Governor of the club.

FACES OF DISTINGUISHED MEMBERS OF LIKE MINDS CLUB

From Online Bond to Real-Life Humanitarian Movement

After the lockdown, members chose to elevate their online bond into a structured association. Their first name, Golden Angels, did not resonate with everyone, so a second arm — Mature Mind — was formed to accommodate individuals who shared the same genuine passion for charity, unity, and personal growth.

These foundations birthed a community built on love, financial cooperation (Ajo thrift savings), empathy, and a commitment to supporting one another without discrimination.
