Baruwa, Lagos — August 15, 2025
In a bold move to tackle water scarcity and improve community health, the Dr. Segun Musa Foundation has commissioned a new Safe Water Project — a borehole facility at Eleshinmogun Street, Baruwa Ipaja via Abesan Estate.
The commissioning ceremony, held at 10 a.m., drew community leaders, residents, and supporters who described the project as a “life-changing intervention” for the area.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Dr. Oluwasegun M. Musa, Chairman of Widescope Group and founder of the Dr. Segun Musa Foundation, emphasized the importance of making an impact that leaves a lasting legacy.
“We must all strive to make an impact that can change our world. Every act of service, no matter how small, has the potential to transform lives and communities,” Dr. Musa said.
The event also witnessed the presence of key community figures, including Mr. Gani Aina, Chairman of Itesiwaju Community Development Areas (CDA) of Ipaja Baruwa, and High Chief Maroof Amoo Fatade, Baale of Fatade Ajelanwa Baruwa, Lagos. Their attendance underscored the significance of the project to local leadership and the community at large.
With its inscription “…empowering Lives, Building Future”, the borehole is more than an infrastructure project — it is a symbol of hope for an underserved community. Residents shared heartfelt words of appreciation, noting that the water source will reduce the daily struggle of fetching water from distant locations, promote hygiene, and help prevent waterborne diseases.
This initiative is the latest in the Foundation’s portfolio of impactful projects spanning education, healthcare, and community development.
