A SEASON OF COMPASSION AS ITIRE RESIDENTS RECEIVE FOOD SUPPORT

In the spirit of compassion and unity that defines the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent, the Dr Segun Musa Foundation extended its annual humanitarian outreach to residents of Itire community in Lagos, bringing hope and relief to families in need. The outreach underscores the Foundation’s enduring commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities through timely intervention and people-centered support.

A WELL-COORDINATED COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The humanitarian event was held on Saturday, 28th February 2026, in Itire, where dozens of beneficiaries gathered to receive food support and welfare packages. Prior to the distribution, Beneficiary Cards were shared within the community to ensure that the food boxes were properly allocated to genuinely interested and deserving residents. The structured approach reflected the Foundation’s emphasis on transparency, order, and impact-driven service.

FOOD RELIEF DESIGNED FOR REAL IMPACT
Each food box distributed during the outreach contained essential staple items including rice, beans, semovita, tomato sachets, seasoning cubes, and other edible supplies carefully selected to support household nutrition. The relief packages were thoughtfully assembled to provide meaningful assistance during the fasting season and were shared among 100 residents within the Itire community, ensuring broad and impactful reach.

A MESSAGE ROOTED IN FAITH AND COMPASSION
Speaking at the event, the Director General of the Foundation, Ambassador Olatunde Martin, explained that the initiative was purely a goodwill gesture and not politically motivated. He noted that the outreach embodies the compassionate vision of the Founder, Dr. Segun Alade Musa, who was unavoidably absent but sent his warm regards and heartfelt wishes to all beneficiaries. He further emphasized that the gesture reflects obedience to the commandments of God, aligning with the values of charity upheld in both faiths — one of the Five Pillars of Islam and the Beatitudes in the Holy Bible — reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to faith-driven compassion and service to humanity.
