Recognizing the invaluable contributions of mothers, the Olumide Mimshack Empowerment Foundation (OMEF) marked Mother’s Day 2025 on Sunday, March 30, with a special initiative to uplift vulnerable women. The foundation extended financial support to women in the Obadore, and its envious of Lagos State, enabling them to sustain and grow their businesses. In addition, essential food items were distributed to ease the burden on struggling families. But the impact of this initiative wasn’t confined to Lagos alone. The celebration reached Ibadan in Oyo State, Benin City in Edo State, and Aba in Abia State, ensuring that more women benefited from this generous gesture.
The event began with an inspiring welcome address by the President and Founder of OMEF, Mr. Olumide Ajala, setting the tone for a day filled with learning, empowerment, and celebration. Attendees engaged in thought-provoking discussions led by expert speakers on topics such as “The Role of Mothers in Nation Building” and “How to Start a Small Business with Limited Capital.” These sessions provided practical insights, equipping women with the knowledge and confidence to improve their lives. Beyond the talks, the day was packed with interactive and uplifting activities, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mrs. Chiedo Nonyerem, Hon. Chief Mrs. Balogun Ganiyat Shade (The Iyaloja of Obadore), Mrs. Mary Ajala (mother of the OMEF President), Mrs. Lawrence Antonia, Barrister Carolyn Ibeh and several other accomplished women from diverse walks of life. Their presence underscored the importance of collective efforts in uplifting women and celebrating the essence of motherhood. Indeed, it was a day of joy, inspiration, and empowerment—a testament to the unwavering spirit of mothers everywhere.
