A CULTURAL LUMINARY BRIDGING HERITAGE AND MODERNITY
In an era where ultural identity is constantly evolving, few personalities have preserved tradition while redefining its global relevance like Chief Funmi Olumade, fondly known as the Iyameto of Canada. A luminous figure in the world of cultural performance and storytelling, she stands as a rare embodiment of grace, authenticity, and creative endurance. For over three decades, Chief Olumade has remained a powerful bridge between heritage and modernity, using her voice, stagecraft, and cinematic vision to amplify the richness of Yoruba culture across continents.

BUILDING A CULTURAL MOVEMENT THROUGH IYAMETO PRODUCTIONS

Her work reflects a deep reverence for identity and ancestry, woven seamlessly into contemporary narratives that resonate with audiences both at home and in the diaspora. Whether through performance, cultural anchoring, or film production, she has consistently projected Nigerian heritage with dignity, elegance, and global sophistication.

A CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE ROOTED IN EMOTION AND TRUTH
Her cinematic masterpiece, Tomorrow Evening, stands as a defining milestone in her illustrious journey. Produced to commemorate her 30-year anniversary in the entertainment industry, the film is a moving exploration of grief, forgiveness, and the redemptive power of family. At its emotional core is the story of Sam, a young musician grappling with the tragic loss of his mother and the emotional fractures that follow within his family. Through layered storytelling and heartfelt performances, the film masterfully examines love, loss, and reconciliation, delivering a universal message that transcends cultural boundaries.

STORYTELLING AS A BRIDGE BETWEEN CULTURES
What distinguishes Tomorrow Evening is not only its emotional depth but its symbolic weight. The project reflects Chief Olumade’s artistic courage — choosing storytelling that heals, unites, and restores. With an international production team spanning multiple cultures, the film mirrors her lifelong mission: building bridges through art and convening diverse creative voices under a shared cultural vision.

A HISTORIC HOMECOMING CELEBRATION
That vision came full circle on Friday, February 6, 2026, when Chief Olumade returned to Nigeria for the grand premiere and official launch of the film at Odua House in Ikeja, Lagos. The evening was more than a premiere — it was a celebration of legacy. A glamorous red-carpet reception welcomed dignitaries, cultural stakeholders, and creatives, setting the tone for an emotionally rich and culturally symbolic gathering.

AN EVENING OF LEGACY, HONOUR, AND CULTURAL PRIDE
The event unfolded as a carefully curated cultural experience. Guests were treated to a moving “30 Years Memory Lane” montage that chronicled her extraordinary journey, followed by tributes from distinguished leaders and cultural icons. Among them was diaspora advocate Abike Dabiri-Erewa, whose office was represented at the event. Royal blessings, ceremonial tributes, and heartfelt goodwill messages elevated the evening into a celebration of both legacy and identity.

DISTINGUISHED GUESTS AND ROYAL HONOURS
The premiere of Tomorrow Evening was elevated by the presence of eminent cultural leaders, royalty, and distinguished personalities who lent prestige and gravitas to the historic celebration. Leading the royal delegation was Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams, the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, who graced the occasion as Father of the Day. He was joined by HRM (Dr.) Joseph Adeshina Okikiola Ikudaisi, the revered Olu of Agbegise, who served as Royal Father of the Day, alongside HRM Oba Ahmed Olakunle, the Alagura of Agura-Land, Ikorodu, Lagos State, who attended as Royal Special Guest of Honour.
The ceremonial launch was performed by Hon. (Dr.) Saheed Abdullahi Mosadoluwa Ibile, while the event was elegantly chaired by Chief Kamorudeen Omolamina (Sir K Oluwo), with Chief Mrs. Titilope Hassan, Yeye Sewa of Badagry Kingdom, serving as Chairlady of the Day. Special recognition was also accorded to Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa (OON), Chairman/CEO of the Nigeria in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), who was unavoidably absent on official duty but ably represented by Mr. Dipo Odebowale, Head of the Lagos Office, NiDCOM.
The gathering further reflected deep industry solidarity with the notable presence of Mrs. Titilayo Adegboye, the Global Coordinator of the Alaga Industry Worldwide, who attended with her distinguished entourage. Also warmly acknowledged were members of the Royal Queens of the Nigerian Canadian Association, whose presence symbolised the enduring cultural bridge between Nigeria and the diaspora. Together, these distinguished guests transformed the evening into a grand convergence of royalty, culture, and global heritage.
