A NEW CHAPTER OF ROTARY LEADERSHIP BEGINS

The Rotary Club of Victoria Island East has ushered in a new chapter of leadership with the installation of Rotarian (Dr.) Oluwaseun Jaiyesimi, PHF+, as its 40th President at a colourful Investiture and Fund Raising Ceremony held on 30th August 2026 at La Scala Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos. The event commenced with the arrival of guests, photo sessions, introduction of members of the high table and distinguished guests, including the guest speaker, Mr. Mike Dada, Esq. The gathering brought together Rotarians, families, friends and distinguished guests in an atmosphere of fellowship, celebration and renewed commitment to Rotary’s ideals.

THE COLLAR CHANGES HANDS AS SERVICE CONTINUES
A major highlight was the recognition of the immediate past President and 39th President, Rotarian Asiwaju Mokesioluwa Seun-Adedamola, who was absent but ably represented by Rotarian Past President Oyebanke Adeboyejo, who delivered her thank-you speech. The ceremonial arrival of Dr. Jaiyesimi alongside his family members was followed by the symbolic exchange of the Rotary presidential collar—the emblem of leadership and responsibility—from the 39th to the 40th President. The historic transition was witnessed by Rotarian Ehi Braimoh, District 9112 Rotary International Governor Nominee, representatives of District Governor Rotarian Layi Abidoye, other District leaders and Past Presidents of the Club.

MILLIONS RAISED TO ADVANCE HUMANITARIAN SERVICE
The investiture also became a powerful demonstration of Rotary’s culture of giving, as Rotarians and guests generously supported the Club’s humanitarian programmes and special projects. A substantial amount running into millions of naira was raised, reflecting the collective commitment to touching lives and advancing meaningful community service. The celebration further featured an exciting raffle draw, with numerous guests going home with different gifts and the Star Prize providing a particularly memorable moment. The presentation of Miss RYLA from the Club Rotaract highlighted the Club’s investment in youth leadership, while the unveiling of the new Board Members reinforced the spirit of teamwork and collective responsibility that will support the new administration.
