A NEW CHAPTER OF LEADERSHIP, SERVICE AND LASTING IMPACT
The Rotary Club of Ikoyi has ushered in a new chapter of leadership with the grand installation of Rotarian Christopher Ehiogie as its 42nd President for the 2026–2027 Rotary Year, in a ceremony filled with pomp, pageantry, fellowship and celebration.
The colourful investiture was held on Saturday, 22nd August 2026, at the Air Force Officers’ Mess, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, bringing together Rotary leaders, distinguished guests, club members, families and friends to celebrate the historic transition.
A NEW ERA OF LEADERSHIP AS EHIOGIE TAKES THE HELM
With the new Rotary year officially underway, Rotarian Christopher Ehiogie assumed the leadership of the prestigious Club, bringing to the position his professional experience, leadership qualities and commitment to Rotary’s ideal of Service Above Self.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, President Ehiogie expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God and appreciated everyone who contributed to making the investiture a success.
He particularly acknowledged the commitment and support of Club members, while giving special recognition to his immediate family and, most importantly, his wife, for standing firmly by him and providing the encouragement necessary for his new leadership responsibility.
SYMBOLIC COLLARETTE EXCHANGE MARKS TRANSFER OF ROTARY LEADERSHIP
The high point of the ceremony was the symbolic exchange of the Rotary collarette, the recognised symbol of leadership in Rotary.
The responsibility of leadership was formally transferred from Rotarian Pharmacist Clare Omatseye, Immediate Past President and 41st President of the Club, to the newly installed President, Rotarian Christopher Ehiogie.
The significant moment was witnessed by past District leaders and a representative of the District Governor, giving the leadership transition a strong sense of continuity and institutional recognition.
With the collarette proudly placed on him, President Ehiogie formally assumed the responsibility of steering the affairs of the Club for the new Rotary year.
DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER AND CHAIRMAN ADD GLAMOUR TO THE OCCASION
Adding intellectual and professional depth to the grand occasion was the Keynote Speaker, Prof. Abiodun Osiyemi, a distinguished forensic scientist, medical doctor and academic.
Prof. Osiyemi, who is the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Forensic Examiner at Forensic Science Consultants, Nigeria, is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Benin and an Adjunct Professor at Babcock University. A Past President of the Rotary Club of Lagos and a Paul Harris Fellow, he brought his wealth of professional and leadership experience to the occasion.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Otunba Femi Dinah, a Chartered Accountant and Business Consultant, also added significant prestige to the ceremony. A former Executive Director (Finance) of Elf Petroleum (Nigeria) Limited, now TotalEnergies, Otunba Dinah is a respected corporate leader with extensive experience in finance, governance and strategic management.
NEW BOARD COMMISSIONED, MEMBERS INDUCTED AS CLUB STRENGTHENS ITS RANKS
The investiture also witnessed the commissioning of the 2026–2027 Board of Directors, formally charging the new leadership team with supporting the President in delivering the Club’s programmes and service initiatives.
Among the members of the new leadership team are Rotarian Boheje Egbe-Okpenge, Service Projects; AG Uzomaka Egbuna, The Rotary Foundation; Rotarian Anthony Abu, Youth Activities; PP Wasiu Bello, Sergeant-At-Arms; and Rotarian Chinasa Anyanwu, Club Greeter.
The ceremony further witnessed the induction of new members, providing a significant boost to the Club’s membership growth and strengthening its capacity for community service.
DISTINGUISHED CONTRIBUTORS HONOURED FOR THEIR SERVICE AND COMMITMENT
The occasion also celebrated individuals whose contributions have positively impacted the growth and development of the Rotary Club of Ikoyi.
Special Recognition Awards were presented to distinguished individuals in appreciation of their dedication, support and invaluable contributions to the Club.
The awards served as a fitting acknowledgement of the people whose commitment and goodwill have helped strengthen the Club and advance its activities over the years.
RAFFLE DRAW, STAR PRIZE AND GRAND CELEBRATION CREATE LASTING MEMORIES
Beyond the formalities of the leadership transition, the investiture provided an atmosphere of friendship, fellowship and celebration.
One of the exciting highlights was the raffle draw, which offered outstanding prizes to lucky winners and generated considerable excitement among guests. The celebration was ultimately crowned by the presentation of the star prize, adding another memorable dimension to an already remarkable occasion.
Guests were also treated to delicious food and assorted drinks, creating a warm and convivial atmosphere that allowed members, dignitaries and friends to relax, interact and celebrate the new administration.

As Rotarian Christopher Ehiogie begins his tenure, the Club enters the 2026–2027 Rotary Year with renewed enthusiasm, strengthened membership and a collective determination to advance the ideals of Service Above Self.
