A Joyous Celebration of Faith, Royal Legacy, Community Service and Six Remarkable Years on the Throne

It was an atmosphere of gratitude, joy and royal celebration as HRM Oba Dr. Kolawole Ajani Egundupe, JP, the Olu of Ipaja Kingdom and Grand Royal Patron of Egbe Gbobaniyi of Ipaja Kingdom, Lagos State, marked his 6th Year Coronation Anniversary with a grand thanksgiving at the Onipaja Palace.
The celebration, held on Monday, 24th August 2026, brought together traditional chiefs, religious leaders, community leaders, family members, friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the monarch and give thanks to God for His faithfulness throughout the years of his reign.

A THANKSGIVING FILLED WITH PRAISE AND PRAYERS
The celebration commenced with a thanksgiving service coordinated by C&S Model Church, Covenant of Mercy. The service was characterised by fervent prayers, joyful worship and melodious songs of praise.
The beautiful songs created an atmosphere of celebration across the palace, with Kabiyesi visibly delighted as he happily danced to the songs of praise. His joyful participation added colour and excitement to the thanksgiving, while guests and members of the community joined in the celebration.
The service provided an opportunity for everyone present to reflect on the journey of the monarch and offer thanks to God for the privilege of celebrating another milestone on the throne.

TESTIMONIES OF A CARING AND ACCESSIBLE MONARCH
One of the major highlights of the thanksgiving was the series of heartfelt testimonies about Kabiyesi and his good deeds.
Speaker after speaker paid tribute to the monarch, describing him as an exceptional leader with a listening ear, a traditional ruler who genuinely cares about the welfare of members of his community.
The testimonies highlighted the close relationship between Kabiyesi and his people, portraying him as a compassionate and accessible monarch who gives attention to the concerns of those within his community.

KABIYESI EXPRESSES GRATITUDE
In the spirit of thanksgiving, Kabiyesi expressed his heartfelt appreciation to everyone who joined him in marking the significant milestone.
He extended his gratitude to members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), all indigenes of Ipaja, his Olori, his children and family members, as well as members of Egbe Gbobaniyi of Ipaja Kingdom, Lagos State.

DISTINGUISHED DIGNITARIES HONOUR THE MONARCH
The anniversary attracted an array of distinguished guests from across the community.
Among the notable dignitaries present was the Iyaloja-General of Ipaja Land, alongside prominent traditional chiefs and community leaders. Also in attendance was a representative of the Chairman of Ipaja-Ayobo LCDA, as well as several other distinguished dignitaries who joined the celebration.
Their presence further underscored the significance of the occasion and the respect accorded to Kabiyesi and the traditional institution of Ipaja Kingdom.

ANNIVERSARY CAKE-CUTTING ADDS COLOUR TO CELEBRATION
Following the thanksgiving service, the celebration continued with the ceremonial cutting of the 6th anniversary cake.
Kabiyesi was joined by his people, church leaders and traditional chiefs for the cake-cutting ceremony, creating another memorable moment of togetherness and celebration.

The occasion also featured an abundance of delicious food and assorted drinks, including alcoholic wines and non-alcoholic beverages, as guests relaxed, interacted and shared in the joy of the anniversary.
SIX YEARS OF ROYAL JOURNEY
For Oba Dr. Kolawole Ajani Egundupe, JP, the anniversary represented more than another year on the throne. It was a moment to give thanks to God, appreciate his people and reflect on the journey of his traditional leadership.
The celebration brought together faith, royalty, community and family, creating a memorable occasion filled with prayers, songs, testimonies, appreciation and fellowship.
