RELIEF & SMILE FOUNDATION’S ANNUAL HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT PROGRAMME BRINGS HOPE TO WIDOWS, ORPHANS, THE ELDERLY, PERSONS LIVING WITH DISABILITIES, AND OTHER VULNERABLE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY WHILE PROMOTING UNITY, COMPASSION, AND GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT.

A DECADE OF COMPASSION AND SELFLESS SERVICE TO HUMANITY
What began as a personal birthday celebration has evolved into one of the most impactful humanitarian initiatives in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State.

To commemorate his 2026 birthday, Alhaji Lukman Adebayo Atunwa, Founder and Chairman of the Relief & Smile Foundation, in conjunction with the LAV New Dawn Movement, once again demonstrated that true leadership is rooted in selfless service. Through the Foundation’s Annual Humanitarian Support Programme, over 200 widows, orphans, elderly persons, persons living with disabilities, and other vulnerable members of society received cash support and humanitarian relief.

Held on Saturday, 11th July, 2026, at the APC Party Secretariat, Orita, Eruwa, the programme attracted political leaders, religious leaders, community stakeholders, party faithful, and beneficiaries from across the ten wards of Ibarapa East. For more than a decade, the Foundation has remained committed to restoring hope and improving lives through compassion and generosity.

GRATITUDE TO GOD AND A RENEWED COMMITMENT TO HUMANITY
The event opened with interfaith prayers led by Evangelist Bosede Babajide and Alfa Ismail Olabisi Adeyemo, reflecting the spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence. In his welcome address, Alhaji Atunwa gave thanks to Almighty God for His mercy and faithfulness over the Foundation’s ten-year humanitarian journey. He appreciated members of the Foundation, his family, APC leaders, volunteers, friends, and supporters for their unwavering commitment. He also paid tribute to Chief Mrs. Bosede Daramola, Iyalode of Eruwa Land and Iyaloja General of Ibarapa Land, describing her as an exemplary community leader. Reaffirming his commitment to humanitarian service, he disclosed that over 200 beneficiaries received support this year and assured guests that the outreach would remain an annual programme dedicated to giving hope to the vulnerable.


DISTINGUISHED PERSONALITIES LEND SUPPORT TO A NOBLE CAUSE
The outreach attracted several prominent personalities, including Engr. Azeez Adeoye, former Oyo State Commissioner for Water Resources; Hon. Olanrewaju Yinus Olaosegba, former Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government; Hon. Dauda Raji, former APC Chairman and CEO of AP Petrol Station, Eruwa; Comrade Dele Belotari, APC Chairman; Hon. Yekeen Oladiran; Hon. Olagoke Jamiu Akaso; Hon. Odebunde Dele Afeele; and Comrade Salam Ariyo, Youth Leader. Also present was Imam Ishaq Oladimeji Hameed, who travelled from Ikorodu, Lagos State, to celebrate with Alhaji Atunwa and prayed for him, his family, and the Foundation.

Alhaji Atunwa also recognised Hon. Bayo Oladeni and Hon. Babatunde Ogunlade, urging APC members to remain united for the progress of the party and the development of Ibarapa East.

A CELEBRATION OF CULTURE, GRATITUDE, AND LASTING IMPACT
The event was professionally coordinated by MC Sekere Oro, whose excellent stage management ensured a lively and well-organised programme. Ayinke Akewi added cultural elegance with an inspiring poetic performance celebrating generosity, integrity, and the virtues of an Omoluabi.



Beneficiaries described Alhaji Lukman Atunwa as a perfect gentleman, a compassionate philanthropist, a peace-loving leader, and a true Omoluabi, expressing heartfelt gratitude for his generosity. Their repeated prayers of “God bless Alhaji Lukman Atunwa” reflected the joy and appreciation that filled the atmosphere. The celebration ended with a raffle draw, games, and closing prayers, reaffirming the Relief & Smile Foundation’s enduring commitment to restoring hope, uplifting the vulnerable, and building stronger communities through selfless service.
