Three Impactful Community Projects Mark a Powerful Day of Service, Partnership and Humanity
On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the Rotary Club of Bourdillon Prestige demonstrated its commitment to meaningful community impact by delivering three impactful projects in line with Rotary’s Areas of Focus.
Working in partnership with KOKI, Blue Roof Factory Community and KIRTI’S KARE FOUNDATION (KKF), the Club advanced initiatives focused on environmental sustainability, healthcare and humanitarian service.
THE GIFT OF CLEAN LIFE: TAKING ON PLASTIC WASTE
A major highlight of the day was the launch of the Plastic Recycling Kompress Project – “The Gift of Clean Life,” an initiative designed to combat plastic waste and flooding in Lagos.
As part of the project, Charter President Winifred Ebiye toured the Blue Roof Recycling Plant, which has a daily capacity of recycling 26 million sachets.
The initiative reinforces a powerful message: “No waste is a waste.”
The formal unveiling of the Plastic Recycling Kompress Project will take place on September 6, 2026, during the Club’s Charter & Investiture.
BRINGING HEALTHCARE CLOSER TO THE UNDERSERVED
The Club also provided a Free Medical Outreach for Owode Elede Community, bringing disease prevention and treatment closer to underserved residents.
The initiative reflects Rotary’s commitment to improving access to healthcare and supporting healthier communities through practical and people-centred interventions.
WE CARE: EXTENDING LOVE TO CHILDREN
Continuing its humanitarian efforts, the Club carried out its “We Care” Initiative at Bab-es-Salam Orphanage, where members donated food, drinks, and time to the children of the home.
Beyond material donations, the initiative offered something equally important—presence, compassion and human connection.
PARTNERSHIP THAT CREATES LASTING IMPACT
Through these three projects, the Rotary Club of Bourdillon Prestige demonstrated how strategic partnerships can transform communities—by addressing environmental challenges, improving access to healthcare and extending care to vulnerable children.
